Product Overview
In the offset printing industry, there is a growing shift towards using non-flushing CTP (Computer-to-Plate) plates, driven by the increasing demand for eco-friendly and sustainable printing practices. These plates provide an alternative to traditional CTP plates, which require chemical processing and have a detrimental effect on the environment.
Non-flushing CTP plates are composed of an aluminum base coated with a photosensitive material. When exposed to UV light, either through a film negative or a digital file, a chemical reaction takes place in the photosensitive layer. This reaction renders the exposed areas receptive to ink while keeping the unexposed areas hydrophilic, repelling ink.
During the printing process, ink is directly applied onto the plate, which is mounted onto the printing press. The ink adheres to the exposed areas of the plate, while the non-image areas remain free of ink. This eliminates the need for chemical processing, making non-flushing CTP plates a sustainable option that minimizes the environmental impact of the printing process.
